Welcome to my world — I'm so glad you're here. I'm Vanessa Pur, and Heels & Hotels is more than a travel blog. It's my personal diary from the road, written the way I'd tell it to a close friend: honest, first-hand and always with an eye for beauty.

How it all began

It all began over ten years ago with a single trip. What started as a few personal lines to family and friends slowly grew into an adventure that changed my life. From those first stories came pureTRAVEL.tv — back then still in German, as part of the pure*.tv family alongside pureGLAM.tv, pureFASHION.tv and pureFOOD.tv.

There followed years in which I spent more than 200 nights a year on the road: grand hotels and design retreats, lounges and business class above the clouds, tables with a view — and countless moments when I simply wanted time to stand still. I learned to look closely, to ask questions, and to test every detail that makes a stay truly special.

Why “Heels & Hotels”?

On all those journeys I was always dressed a little too elegantly — and at some point that became the talk. “Aren't those heels a bit high for a travel blogger?” But instead of making myself smaller, I decided to show up exactly as I am: with poise, with style and yes, in high heels. Over the years, those red soles almost became my signature.

Heels for the woman I am — Hotels for the passion that drives me. That is how pureTRAVEL.tv became Heels & Hotels: a name that finally brings together what, for me, always belonged together.

A new chapter

Over time, the digital world changed. The sense of community I had loved so much gave way, more and more, to constant comparison — and at some point a lot of it no longer felt real. That's when I knew: it was time for a fresh start. The old pure*.tv blogs are history now.

What remained is the passion — and it has found three new homes: Heels & Hotels for travel, VanessaPur.com for fashion & lifestyle and EinfacheRezepte.tv for the kitchen. A new name, the same woman behind it.

How I travel today

Today I write again the way I did at the very beginning — like writing for a friend. No obligatory posts, no obligations. I share when a place truly moves me. Because I've learned this: you don't have to capture every moment to enjoy it. Everything here is honestly tested and first-hand — luxurious, yet always approachable.
